Credit Myth Busters
I keep getting all these credit card mailings. My credit score is going to decline because of it.

FICTION
These random solicitations do not affect your score (as long as you don’t respond to them).

I opted out a while back, and it cut down on the amounts significantly, but creditors with "existing business relationships" still take advantage: so I still get offers from Citigroup. I already have a card with them...but hey, this one gives you MILES!

Go AWAY! I wish I just had a shredder automatically mounted to my mailbox. You're sending CHECKS with MY NAME ON THEM through the mail. What, do you WANT my identity stolen?

You can opt out of recieving this often annoying junk mail and potentially protect yourself from identity theft by visiting the site:

https://www.optoutprescreen.com/?rf=t

There is an option to opt out for 5 years or permanently, and you can always opt back in. Did I mention this is free? Read the FAQ's for more information!

You should should burn or shred those credit card offers.....or else the identity thieves will get you!

It is true. I receive many credit card offers, but I never responded to them. My credit score is still good :)
